The Omron HL-5300 is a spring-type limit switch belonging to the HL-5000 series. It is mainly used for detecting the position or stroke of objects in industrial automation equipment.


1. Product Positioning and Core Functions

Type: A small-sized limit switch that achieves mechanical triggering through a spring mechanism. It is suitable for scenarios requiring precise position detection.

Application Scenarios: General industrial environments such as printing machinery, molding machinery, and light-duty machinery. However, it is not suitable for harsh conditions with rainwater or oil-water splashes (for such cases, it is recommended to select high-sealing models like the WL or D4C series).

    DC Load: Maximum 5A for resistive load, maximum 4A for inductive load, and maximum 3A for motor load (at DC 24V).

  Contact Configuration: 1a1b (Single-Pole Double-Throw, SPDT), supporting switching between normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) states.

Mechanical Characteristics:

  Operating Force: Maximum 1.47N, with sensitive triggering.

  Operating Stroke: Maximum 30mm, enabling rapid response.

  Operating Frequency: 120 operations per minute for mechanical operation, and 30 operations per minute for electrical operation.

3. Structural Design and Installation

Appearance and Material:

  Housing: Made of plastic material, featuring light weight and impact resistance.

Installation Method:

  Front Installation: Fixed through 2 φ5.2mm mounting holes on the diagonal, compatible with M5 bolts.

  Head Direction Adjustment: Can be installed with a 90° or 180° rotation, flexibly adapting to different spatial requirements.

Wiring Design:

  Open Conduit Port: Facilitates cable access and supports 0.75mm² wires.

  Terminal Type: It is recommended to use crimp terminals with insulation clamps to prevent loosening.

Stock and Procurement:

  Current Status: Still in production and sales in 2025.

  Model Expansion: Available in two variants: the standard type (HL-5300) and the type with a grounding terminal (HL-5300G), meeting different grounding requirements.

Maintenance Services:

  Warranty Period: 1.5 years from the date of production; for repaired products, the same fault point is covered by a 1-year warranty extension.


5. Precautions

Environmental Restrictions: Avoid using it in environments containing silicon-based gases (such as silicone oil and silica gel) to prevent contact oxidation.

Installation Torque: The cover screws should be tightened to 0.49~0.59N·m to prevent malfunctions caused by loosening.

Alternative Options: For higher protection levels, the D4C series can be considered; for impact resistance requirements, the WL series can be selected.
