The normal position of a Schneider solenoid valve usually refers to the initial state of the solenoid valve when it is not energized or without the action of an external control signal. Generally, it is divided into two types: normally open and normally closed.
- **Normally Open Solenoid Valve**: In the normal state, that is, when not energized, the valve core of the solenoid valve is in an open state, and the fluid can pass through the solenoid valve freely. When energized, the electromagnetic force acts on the valve core, causing the valve core to close, thus cutting off the fluid passage. This type of solenoid valve is suitable for occasions where the fluid passage needs to be kept open under normal circumstances and the fluid is cut off only under specific conditions. For example, in some safety protection systems, the fluid is allowed to pass during normal operation. When an abnormal situation occurs and an emergency cut - off is required, the solenoid valve is closed by energization.
- **Normally Closed Solenoid Valve**: Contrary to the normally open type, in the normal state of the normally closed solenoid valve, that is, when not energized, the valve core is in a closed state, preventing the fluid from passing. After the solenoid valve is energized, the electromagnetic force overcomes the resistance such as the spring force, causing the valve core to open and allowing the fluid to pass. The normally closed solenoid valve is more widely used. For example, in some fluid control systems, by default, the fluid is not allowed to pass. Only when a control signal (energization) is received, the valve is opened to allow the fluid to flow, achieving precise control of the fluid.
